  rare late 17th century 8-day longcase, by John Sanderson of Wigton c1695.The interesting dial has a polished centre, with the the religous verses:- 'As time and cllock and all things pass away' and 'A mend your lives for here wee must not stay '. Also the verse 'Memento Mori ' (Bear Death in Mind).This is one of John Sanderson's earliest surviving 8-day clocks (if not earliest) to come to light so far.
