he 10.75 inch dial of a fabulous eight-day clock made from about 1695 by farmer, Joseph Calvert of Longthwaite (nrWigton) - for his own use with the assistance of John Sanderson (his neighbour and friend) for the dial making. Prototype work of an exceptional nature, of great interest in to the beginnings of clockmaking in the region. Unusually signed, Joseph Calvert Fecit hoc Horologium (Joseph Calvert made this clock).
